Infiniti is preparing to enter a new market segment with the launch of the JX crossover, a 7-seater luxury model. The company hasn’t revealed many details on this concept as of yet, and apparently they are not going to until the vehicle makes its official debut at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. A production version will be revealed in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but the vehicle won’t be going on sale until Spring 2012 as a 2013 model.
Like we said before, Infiniti hasn’t dished out any extravagant details for their new SUV model, but they have confirmed that the JX will have three rows of seats with room for seven passengers. The crossover’s exterior design will follow along the lines of the Infiniti Essence Concept revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and the interior will feature the next generation of Infiniti’s telematics and infotainment technology.
"There aren?t a lot of choices for luxury families today. The all-new Infiniti JX is the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now," said Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas. "The Infiniti JX will have a stunning interior, while offering exceptional seating flexibility, easy access to the roomy third row, plus the latest in-vehicle technology ? including next-generation telematics. A fitting addition to our line, it will challenge the status quo in its class."
UPDATE 07/07/2011: Infiniti has unveiled the first official teaser image of the JX Concept which will join the Infiniti line next Spring. The luxury crossover concept will make its official debut at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d?Elegance on August 18, 2011.
UPDATE 07/14/11: One week later and the second official trailer of the JX Crossover is now up. Maybe we should start expecting more of these snapshots in the coming weeks leading up to its official debut on August 18, 2011.
UPDATE 07/22/11: A few weeks before its official debut at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d?Elegance Infiniti has unveiled the third teaser image of the JX Concept. It will be followed by a production version set to be released in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
