Just starting this kit and I think successfully removed the heavy plastic support and extra plastic tabs around the hood and hood opening. Also need to remove the mold parting line on the rear of the quarter panel extending through the top and down the A pillar.
My fingernail sander finally gave out on me after about 20 years of service (great tool). Unfortunately, I can't find another like it anywhere. I prefer an oscillating sander to a dremel tool because I have never been able to control a dremel tool well. It has a tendency to skip or walk due to the rotory action and often leaves gouges when i try to use one. So I found a new oscillating sander at MicroMark and although it was a bit pricey, $80 with shipping, it works great and I have already used it on the 65 Pontiac build.
The color will be MCW yellow gold which won't look like the yellow on the kit box art but the color of the car in the magazine, a creamy, light yellow. Black hood decal , black interior and tight black bumble bee stripe on the rear of the car. Should be a much quicker build than the 65 Pontiac. Thanks for looking!
